This Privacy Policy explains how PintSave ("PintSave," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, processes, and protects information when you use the PintSave website, downloader, contact forms, reviews, and related services (collectively, the "Service").

1. Who We Are

PintSave is a browser-based utility that helps users retrieve media made publicly available through supported links to Pinterest Pins, TikTok videos, and Facebook videos or Reels. PintSave is independent and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or connected to Pinterest, TikTok, Facebook, or their parent companies.

For purposes of applicable data protection law, the operator of PintSave is responsible for the processing described here. You can contact us about privacy through the Contact Us page.

2. Information We Process

2.1 URLs You Submit

When you submit a supported direct, shortened, or share link to a Pinterest Pin, TikTok video, or Facebook video or Reel, we process it to locate publicly available media and return available download options. A URL may contain identifiers or information associated with public content. We do not ask you to provide credentials for these platforms and do not use submitted URLs to build advertising profiles about individual users.

2.2 Technical and Usage Information

  • IP address and approximate geographic region.
  • Browser, device, operating system, language, and referring page.
  • Requested pages and resources, timestamps, network metadata, and interactions with website features.
  • Error, diagnostic, security, fraud-prevention, and abuse-prevention signals.

2.3 Contact, Reports, and Public Reviews

If you contact us or report a problem, we may process the name, message, language, URLs, browser information, and other details you provide. Contact and review notifications may be delivered to the Service operator through Telegram.

If you publish a review, the name and message you choose are displayed publicly. Reviews may remain publicly available until removed or moderated. Do not submit confidential or sensitive personal information.

2.4 Analytics, Advertising, Sharing, and Security Services

The current Service uses the following third-party technologies:

  • Google Analytics 4 to measure visits, referrals, approximate location, device characteristics, and interactions.
  • Google AdSense to display and measure advertising, together with Google Privacy & Messaging where available.
  • Yandex Advertising Network (RSYA) to display and measure advertising for visitors whose IP address is geolocated to Russia. Other visitors continue to receive Google AdSense. Country detection uses the DB-IP Country Lite database.

IP geolocation data is provided by DB-IP.com under the CC BY 4.0 license.

  • ShareThis to provide sharing features and measure the use of those features.
  • Cloudflare Turnstile to distinguish legitimate requests from automated abuse.

PintSave does not currently use Cloudflare Web Analytics. Separately, self-hosted Prometheus and Grafana monitor aggregate operational performance and do not place public-facing analytics cookies in your browser.

3. Media Processing and Storage

PintSave does not claim ownership of third-party media and is not a permanent media-hosting or cloud-storage service. A requested file may be transmitted through or temporarily stored by our servers, infrastructure, or providers to complete the request, maintain security, or diagnose a problem.

Temporary media files are normally scheduled for deletion within approximately two hours. Exceptional diagnostic, security, or legal needs may require limited information to be retained longer.

4. How and Why We Use Information

  • Providing the Service: to process submitted links and return media information and download options.
  • Security and abuse prevention: to detect malicious activity, spam, excessive automation, attacks, fraud, and violations of our Terms.
  • Reliability and diagnostics: to monitor uptime, diagnose failures, maintain compatibility, and improve performance.
  • Communications and reviews: to respond to messages and publish, moderate, or remove reviews.
  • Analytics and advertising: to understand use of the Service, measure performance, and fund the Service through advertising.
  • Legal compliance: to comply with law, lawful requests, and to establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.

Where GDPR or similar law applies, processing may be based on performing the service you request, compliance with legal obligations, our legitimate interests in operating and protecting the Service, or your consent where consent is required. You may withdraw consent through the available consent controls or browser settings, without affecting earlier lawful processing.

5. Cookies and Similar Technologies

PintSave and its providers use cookies, local storage, pixels, and similar technologies. These include Google Analytics cookies such as _ga, Google advertising and consent technologies, ShareThis identifiers, and security technologies associated with Cloudflare Turnstile.

PintSave also stores a browser-local preference after you dismiss the download-location notice so the same notice is not shown again. This preference is not used for advertising.

You can use available privacy choices and browser controls to reject or delete cookies. Blocking some technologies may affect advertising, sharing, security, or other features.

6. How We Share Information

PintSave does not directly sell personal data for money. However, advertising and sharing providers may collect, combine, disclose, or use identifiers and usage data for interest-based advertising, measurement, or other purposes. Under some privacy laws, this activity may be considered a "sale," "sharing," or targeted advertising even when no money is paid to PintSave for the specific data.

  • Google receives information through Analytics, AdSense, and Privacy & Messaging.
  • ShareThis receives information through sharing and measurement tools.
  • Cloudflare receives security signals through Turnstile.
  • Telegram may receive contact, report, or review notifications sent to the operator.
  • Hosting, network, and proxy providers process technical information needed to operate the Service. A proxy used to retrieve public media may receive the submitted source URL, but PintSave does not intentionally send the requesting user's IP address to that proxy as part of the media request.
  • Supported source platforms receive server-side requests for public media associated with the URL you submit. PintSave does not intentionally include your browser IP address in those media requests.

Providers may act as processors or independent controllers under their own terms and privacy policies. We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect rights and security, or as part of a merger, acquisition, reorganization, or transfer of the Service.

7. Third-Party Services and Content

Third-party services have their own privacy practices and terms. For more information, review the privacy notices of Google, ShareThis, Cloudflare, and Telegram.

When you follow an external link or download third-party media, the relevant third party's practices and terms also apply. We do not control third-party websites, platforms, or source content.

8. Data Retention

  • Temporary media files are normally scheduled for deletion within approximately two hours.
  • Submitted URLs may appear in operational, error, or security records for as long as reasonably needed for diagnostics, abuse prevention, or legal compliance.
  • Problem reports are currently kept in a rolling operational list limited to the latest 5,000 reports; no fixed time-based retention period is applied.
  • Public reviews are generally retained until removed or moderated.
  • Contact messages and notifications sent through Telegram may be retained as needed to resolve the request and are also subject to Telegram and operator-side retention practices.
  • Server logs and provider analytics, advertising, sharing, consent, and security data are retained according to operational need, configured settings, provider policies, and applicable law.

Information may be retained longer where required for litigation, regulatory obligations, security investigations, or legitimate record keeping, and may be aggregated or anonymized where appropriate.

9. International Data Transfers

Our infrastructure and providers may process information outside your country. Where required, transfers are supported by recognized legal mechanisms such as adequacy decisions, contractual safeguards, or other lawful measures.

10. Data Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, including HTTPS, access controls, monitoring, and abuse-prevention mechanisms. No website, transmission method, or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure.

11. Your Privacy Rights and Choices

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or receive certain personal data; object to processing; withdraw consent; opt out of a sale, sharing, or targeted advertising; and complain to a supervisory authority. Legal conditions and exceptions may apply.

Because PintSave does not require accounts and limits retained identifiers, we may not always be able to connect information to a specific person. To exercise a right, use the Contact Us page, identify your country or region and request, and provide only the information reasonably needed to verify it.

12. Children's Privacy

The Service is intended for a general audience and is not designed to knowingly collect personal information from children below the minimum age permitted by applicable law. Contact us if you believe a child has submitted personal information unlawfully.

13. Automated Decision-Making

PintSave does not use personal data for solely automated decisions producing legal or similarly significant effects. Automated systems may support rate limiting, spam detection, security monitoring, and abuse prevention.

14. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy to reflect changes to the Service, technology, law, or our practices. We will update the date above and provide additional notice where legally required.

For privacy questions or requests, use the Contact Us page. Include enough information for us to understand the request, but do not send unnecessary sensitive information.

16. Translations

This Policy may be available in multiple languages. We aim to keep translations consistent with English. Nothing in a translation limits rights that cannot lawfully be waived.
